The Humanist Association for Medicine (HAMP) is a group for Doctors and Medical Students who practice medicine without having religious beliefs. We are affiliated to the British Humanist Association.
"The British Humanist Association (BHA) is the national charity supporting and representing non-religious people who seek to lead ethical lives without supernatural or superstitious beliefs. Committed to human rights, democracy, equality and mutual respect, the BHA works for an open and inclusive society with freedom of belief and speech, and for an end to the privileged position of religion – the established church in particular – in law, education, broadcasting and wherever else it occurs."

The Humanist Association for Medical Practicioners (HAMP) intends to focus on issues relating to the health services and practice of medicine. These include termination of pregnancy, stem cell research, end of life care, chaplaincy service on the NHS and many others. Whilst the religious implications of these issues have seen much discussion HAMP aims to show and discuss the ethical and moral aspects outside the context of religion.
HAMP also aims to show today's doctors that Agnosticism, Atheism and Humanism do not have to be passive choices or the catch all category of those that do not follow other religions. It can be a positive choice and a strong belief system showing that Irreligion and Amoral are not synonyms.
